Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Child in N.J. Arrested in Tennessee
News of a sexual assault offender impacted the Plainfield, New Jersey area almost two years ago. Just when it looked like the offender disappeared and would avoid jail time, an anonymous tip led to his arrest.
Investigative Staff’s Hard Work Pays off
Despite no traces of the offender for almost two years, investigators never gave up. When they received an anonymous tip, they the Plainfield Police Division and the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit worked closely together with local authorities and tracked down the offender in Tennessee. He was arrested in the state of Tennessee and will be extradited to New Jersey for sentencing and jail time. The suspect
will deal with second-degree sexual assault charges with a minor under the age of 13. He will also have third-degree charges for endangering a child.
