Frequently Asked Questions about Personal Injury in Maple Shade
If multiple parties bear liability for causing your injuries and losses, the law in New Jersey states that the responsibility to pay the compensation you are entitled to will be divided up among the liable parties, in proportion to each party’s share of fault. However, the law also states that if one party is 60 percent or more at fault for your injuries and losses, you can recover the full amount of compensation you are legally entitled to from that party alone.
Even if you don’t believe that you were injured in an accident, you should not assume that you do not need to begin preparing a personal injury claim. Many injuries can take days or weeks to begin causing pain or manifesting symptoms that you notice. However, by the time you realize that you were hurt in the accident, you may have lost the opportunity to recover evidence that would have been critical to proving your right to recover compensation. That’s why it is important to get examined by a medical professional as soon as possible after an accident to diagnose any injuries you may have suffered and to document evidence at the scene of the accident.
